Portland Building RFP Business Proposal

The Portland Building has a colorful history (it’s where the statue of Portlandia lives). The city of Portland put out a Request for Proposal (RFP) in fall 2015 for a $195 million renovation.

I was contacted by a local construction consulting firm to help rewrite and edit a proposal. In one day. Working alongside the project’s primary editor, I served as the critical second set of eyes for accuracy, and by 10:30 p.m. (!), I was also writing and serving as the primary editor for some sections of the proposal. The project was submitted on time, but my client did not win the bid.

This project is in my portfolio because I have experience quickly learning RFP requirements and writing/editing/error-checking a proposal that you can submit with confidence. A major part of my branding is, “you know your brand better than anyone else,” so if you feel you’re the right firm for governmental project, then I’m the right writer/editor for your project.
